New Vauxhall Astra bring price parity across electric and hybrid models

The latest Vauxhall Astra introduces a different approach to pricing, with electric, plug-in hybrid and hybrid versions aligned across the range.

Expected to open for orders from June, with UK deliveries from July

A choice shaped by usage, not price

In most cases, the decision between electric and hybrid comes down to cost as much as suitability. Here, that distinction is removed.

Buyers can choose between:
  • A fully electric Astra, now updated with a larger battery and a range of up to 281 miles (WLTP)
  • A plug-in hybrid, offering the ability to cover shorter journeys on electric power alon
  • A 48V hybrid, designed to improved efficiency without the need to plug in

With pricing aligned, the difference between these options becomes more about how the car will be used day to day.

No premium for practicality

The same thinking applies to the Astra Sports Tourer. Estate versions often carry a higher price, but here it's offered at the same level as the hatchback.

For drivers who need additional space - up to 1,634 litres with the rear seats folded - it's a practical alternative without the usual costs increase

A different way to choose your next car

What makes this Astra feel different isn't just the design or the technology - it's the approach.

By removing the price gap between electric, hybrid and plug-in hybrid models, Vauxhall has made the decision simpler. You're no longer weighing up cost differences between powertrains. You're choosing what actually works for your lifestyle.

And that's what the Astra has always been about - fitting into real life, just a little better.
